Tautes Heim / Taut's Home - Download of press material and photos

This project did not receive any official grants. It was financed, planed and carried out entirely privately by Katrin Lesser and Ben Buschfeld. Tautes Heim received the "European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Award 2013" plus the Berlin Monument Award. Our goal is to help to maintain and communicate the unique heritage of Bruno Taut's work and we hope that our investment can be refinanced by the rental rates for the accommodation. Therefore we are pleased about press and media inquiries.

Our own book about the estate

Ben Buschfeld: "Bruno Tauts Hufeisensiedlung" (German + English)

ISBN 978-3-89479-923-6 - 144 pages, full color, 13x21cm, € 16,95
After many years of guiding vistors and official delegations through the estate we feel like the time is right to publish our own book: This architectural guide features more than 150 images, plans, aerial views, historical and contemporary photographs. It provides insight into architecture, construction and social history and presents the most important architects, planners and residents. Additional chapters are dedicated to „Taut’s Home“ and provide the basic facts and official maps about the other five settlements that belong to the UNESCO World heritage of the „Berlin Modernism Housing Estates“. Last not least the book includes recommendations for trips to other estates designed by Bruno Taut. Staying at „Taut’s Home“, this makes it a good choice to back up your exploration of Berlin’s architectural heritage.
